How do I find my Toyota ERC number?

When your Toyota Raize's navigation becomes disconnected from the battery, usually due to a low battery or battery change, it automatically locks and begins to ask for security information that was set by a previous owner. If you no longer have access to these security details, you will need to bypass this screen using an official Toyota unlock code. To find your 's 8-digit unlock code you will first need to find the 16-digit ERC number located in the navigation's hidden service menu.

Finding your ERC number – method 1

To access your Toyota navigation's hidden service menu and find your ERC number, follow the short video below or scroll down for our step-by-step guide. If this method doesn't work for your navigation, scroll down to try method 2 instead.

  1. Switch on your vehicle's navigation.
  2. Hold down the navigation's main button - this is usually the MAP, DISPLAY, DISP, INFO or Japanese button - while flashing the parking lights 3 times. This is done by quickly moving the indicator stalk switch from AUTO to the parking lights symbol (image 3). If your indicator stalk doesn't have a parking lights symbol, flash the headlights 3 times instead.

  3. On the hidden menu that appears, press the third button
  4. (Optional) If there are two buttons on the top-right of the screen, press the left one
  5. If there are buttons on the right side of the screen, press the second or third button - if there are only buttons on the left side of the screen, press the first button
  6. If you still don't see your 16-digit ERC number, repeat these steps while pressing the top-left button in step 4 twice
  7. Once you can see your ERC number on the display, take a picture of it in case you need to send it to us
  8. Enter the ERC number carefully into our Toyota Raize code generator above - once you've purchased your code, enter it immediately without turning the navigation off, as on some models this will generate a new ERC number and require you to purchase a new code

  3. On the left side of the keyboard, press the top button, followed by the bottom visible button - repeat this 3 times
  4. On the hidden menu that appears, press the third button
  5. (Optional) If there are two buttons on the top-right of the screen, press the left one
  6. If there are buttons on the right side of the screen, press the second or third button - if there are only buttons on the left side of the screen, press the first button
  7. If you still don't see your 16-digit ERC number, repeat these steps while pressing the top-left button in step 4 twice
  8. Once you can see your ERC number on the display, take a picture of it in case you need to send it to us

Unfortunately it's not possible to generate a Toyota radio code from the registration plate at all.
